Job Shop PowerSites was started in 2001 by two job shop owners: Gary and Dave. Gary has deep roots in the machining industry; both his father and grandfather were machinists and he ran a precision machine shop for nearly two decades. Dave ran his own successful shop for many years and was a brilliant machinist and CNC programmer. Sadly, Dave passed away in 2017 and is deeply missed; his manufacturing company continues to thrive. Today, Gary runs Job Shop PowerSites along with a crack team of creative designers and technicians.
No. Our website design price is a one-time cost and includes everything you need to get your business online. Our optional Webmaster Service is offered on a month-to-month basis and you can cancel anytime.

Yes. Responsive or scalable websites are designed to look great on multiple screen sizes; from phones and tablets to laptops and large monitors. Every Job Shop PowerSites website has responsive design built-in so your new website will look great on any device.
As a rule, no. Over the years, some of our job shop clients have asked us to build websites for their other businesses. We’re happy to accommodate on a case-by-case basis, and our standard pricing structure may not apply. Please contact us and we will help if we can. If we can’t, we’ll be happy to refer you to some other designers.
No. We find that most contract manufacturers do not need websites with an eCommerce component, due to the nature of the business. If your new website needs eCommerce or merchant account capabilities, we can include those features but there may be an additional cost. Please contact us to discuss your particular needs.
Yes. Our price for parts photography is $85 per image and includes complete image editing. Please contact us for more information about our stand-alone photography services.

Our philosophy is that successful manufacturing is a highly-organized and precise business. Our Webmaster Service is available for $99.00/month and includes web hosting and unlimited website content updates at no additional cost. We also take care of the security updates, SEO and other maintenance issues to keep your website safe and running perfectly.
If you choose to host and maintain your website elsewhere, then whomever you choose will be responsible for maintaining and updating your site.
We do, and it’s where our hands-on industry knowledge really comes in handy. We sit down with you and your top people for in-depth interviews to gain insight into exactly what you do. We want to know your strengths, your specialties, your business roots. From there we create incisive and informative text designed to get a positive response from your website visitors. Or course, you have the final review and approval of all the content on your new site, including the text.
As part of our website-building process, we like to sit down with the owners and key personnel of your company to gain insight into exactly what you do. We find that, even though our clients are in the same industry, each has an individual story to tell. To create effective text for your website, we need to understand what makes your business unique. The interviews usually takes about an hour or so and are conducted at your place of business, whenever possible.
It usually takes our team about 8 to 12 weeks to build a new website from start to finish. If you need a website sooner, we’ll do our best to accommodate you; an expedite charge may apply.
We do. We use a combination of photographs of your shop, your equipment, your people and your products – along with stock photographs and client-supplied images – to create a visually striking web presence for your company.
In fact, the value of the parts photography alone is often equal to more than a third of the cost of your new website, and it’s included in the price!
A business logo is an important component in the design of your new website. If you don’t have a logo, or need a new one, our design team can create one for you. Our starting price for logo design is $200 and depends on the complexity of your project. Please contact us for more information.
Absolutely. The whole idea of our Webmaster Service it to keep your website in sync with your business. Our service features unlimited updates to your website content at no additional cost. We also take care of the security updates, SEO and other maintenance issues to keep your website safe and running perfectly.
If you don’t choose to let us host your website, you can make changes anytime you like using the CMS dashboard (but you need to know what you’re doing, or have somebody who does).
No, you can choose to host your new website anywhere you like.

Yes. The CMS platform used to build our websites is accessible via a user-interface/control panel. You can have access to this “back end” but you need to know what you’re doing, and it can get complicated. We don’t recommend maintaining your own website unless you’re very familiar with modern content management systems, and the ins and outs of web hosting, and SEO, and website security features, and tech updates, and more.
No problem. Your existing website remains online while we build your new website. We give you access to your new site while it’s being built so you can follow the progress. When your new website is finished and approved, we simply replace your old website with your new one.
Yes. We can easily display videos on your new website using client-supplied content in any standard format, and it’s included in our pricing. Custom videography (creating the video itself) is not included in our website design pricing. We’re happy to work with any videographer you choose, or we can recommend one for you.
A web host is essentially a computer connected to the Internet where the files that make up your website are stored and shared with the world. Most websites are hosted by web hosting companies that maintain state-of-the-art servers, hardware, security and high-speed internet connections in secure data installations with off-site redundancy and power backups.

You do. Your website is essentially a collection of content and you own the content when your website is finished. Exceptions could be some of the stock photographs on your website that are “royalty-free” or “licensed-for-reuse”, which means that we’ve paid a one-time fee for the right to use them, or that nobody owns or controls the image(s); or other copyrighted content for which you or we have usage rights, but not ownership. The CMS that runs your website is open-source (WordPress) so nobody owns it. We also use a “theme” for which we pay a one-time license fee for unlimited use, and you own this license once your website is online. Finally, we may use “plugins” or custom CSS on your website for which we’ve paid a one-time license fee; these also belong to you. Please contact us for more information.
Our Webmaster Service takes care of everything once your new website is online including: web hosting, tech updates, security updates, search engine optimization (SEO), and unlimited content revisions that keep your website safe, fresh and in sync with your business. You don’t have to use our service, but hosting a website is complicated and involves system updates, content updates, hosting issues, online threat mitigation, search engine optimization, etc. The whole idea of our Webmaster Service is to let us take care of your website, so you can focus on your business.
Yes. With our Webmaster Service your website is protected 24/7 from hacking and unauthorized access by the latest security software at both the website and web host levels. We monitor and record any hacking attempts in real-time, and our web servers respond immediately to block any unauthorized access.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is what gets you listed well on search engines, and it’s built into each new Job Shop PowerSites website so your website can be found online. Once your site is online, our Webmaster Service provides active SEO monitoring so your website remains optimized; and you can see the results directly with Google Analytics (which is included with each new website).
Although we can’t guarantee a specific uptime, our web servers have an average uptime of 99.98%, with an average load time of 585ms (industry average is 1185ms). That’s super-reliable and fast web hosting for your site.
